UP ARMOUR - MOD SYSTEM
2018 INDUSTRIAL DESIGN thesis project
UNDER ARMOUR // MOD SYSTEM is a speculative industrial design project inspired by the culture of battlefield adaptation, where soldiers continuously modify and personalize issued equipment to gain a tactical advantage. Drawing from Under Armour's deep association with military performance apparel and footwear, the project imagines this philosophy migrating from combat to the pitch, where players select options for the evolution of their own equipment. Rather than treating boots, shin guards, and protective gear as fixed products, the system proposes a platform that can be tuned, reconfigured, and optimized to suit individual playing styles, positions, and environmental conditions.
Like the battlefield, every adaptation is driven by performance under pressure, turning athletes into innovators whose modifications shape the next generation of equipment. The project reimagines industrial design as an evolving system where competition drives continuous innovation, blurring the line between standardized products and personalized performance technology.
